Human savants often develop amazing talents after suffering brain injuries as kids. Epilepsy, accidents, extreme situations have all factored in to the strange preternatural talents of these most remarkable of us all. Many are autistic, even as adults and some, such as this wonderful man, Alonzo, are pretty much loners, not really capable of communicating at all. What these people illustrate is how the brain adapts in remarkable ways, leading us into any number of possible historical past avenues, giving some interesting possible insight into our discoveries and development as a species. It is said that epileptics were among the first guru’s and holy men and women, owing to their strange view of the world and their occasional tripping out of their gourds. These savants make that seem far more believable – after all, in a manner of speaking, it is we who are not taking advantage of the brains they work with on a daily basis.

I really, really like this guy. I mean, who wouldn’t? I give you a savant sculptor, Alonzo Cleamens.
