Sharing a video with a nice mix of optical illusions. Some are made by manipulating perspectives, others seem to be tricks of the camera and some, I really have no idea how they were made. Either way, these are fun to watch -

I love seeing cool animations by ordinary people. Computers allow us all to be directors. Imagination seems to be the only thing limiting us. That, and hard work! Look at this amazing video, where two weeks of hard work were needed to create this candles animation:

Here’s a gorgeous bird, full of handsome plumage and possessing a pretty amazing vocal range which he uses to lure in his potential female companions. He illustrates his wide experience with the world as his sounds go from great and pretty mimes of the local birds to the sound of camera shutters being clicked to those – and I’m serious – of chain saws.

Here are a few interesting videos of lightning strikes – Mother Nature’s Prime Time Light Show.  Fun to watch from a distance, no one wants to be that golfer in the Southern United States who has been struck 7 times. Evidently, he has a hard time making up a group when there are clouds around!

This is some splendid footage of an electrical storm in Chicago, Illinois, striking some of the world’s tallest buildings.

In this one, lightning strikes the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada numerous times. Awesome footage.

The Mekong River is no stranger to some American guys who spent time there under not ideal circumstances. But it is and always has been an important river in this world. Here, in this great Nature series, we find ourselves involved with a man who is trying to preserve this gigantic fish and we get a look at his progress. This fish is amazing – huge – up to 600 pounds huge (250Kg). Here is a bit on the man, his children’s book on this amazing catfish and a study of human inroads into Nature and what we try to do to lessen the strain..

Come on. We haven’t heard anything from this branch of humanity yet. Now, we all know there are stupid things and people out there. Face it – we see it all the time.

But what about guys who do “Stupid” for a living? Ladies and Gents, I give you the Jackass Crowd! Suitable for everyone, by the way. Depending on your toleration for stupid.

It was merely a matter of time in the ongoing “made hoops” game of Impossible Shots in basketball would roam skywards. This epic trick shot was devised by engineering students at Texas A & M in the USA, using a series of cones in a field. They have since repeated the shot on national TV’s Morning Show. The feat was also picked up by GMC Motors who thought enough of it to feature these guys in a commercial, bit it’s all 100% real.  Fun stuff and they deserve all the accolades given out. But let’s face it – who else has the time?

Yeah, it’s “just another rock band”, wearing new styles and sporting good music. But there is something in this futuristic group – and in the very artful and arresting cinematography, of course – which really grabbed me and made it qualify as “amazing”. I’m going to impose on people’s time and provide 2 – not 1 – embedded videos to show a couple of evolutions which my now-favorite Portuguese band – Blasted Mechanism – has gone through………..enjoy! I find it fun, funny and danceable, yet very pleasantly shocking at the same time. They’re pretty good musicians, under all that craziness.

This one is truly amazing to watch – makes you wonder if the guy has sticky feet and palms.

Not only does he climb the vertical rock with totally unsecured, he does it really really fast – to break a record. Keep watching and see him jump and purposefully lose his grip for seconds to make progress faster. Scary stuff there.
